The Hebrew Alephbet
I believe one of the best ways to approach learning a new language is learning words that you will use.  This
makes it more interesting and you will have a better chance of keeping your focus.  For most of us interested in
learning Hebrew, our main reason is so we can better understand Bible text and Biblical culture.  So that is
where we will begin.  We we start with important words or words that we might use often, like the names of God
and words like peace, righteousness, salvation, truth, love etc.
But before we start with words, we must begin with the basics.  The Hebrew letters and their sounds.
Read the letters from right to left.

In the Bible, the reference to numbers and
their values are very important.  ie. 12 tribes
of Israel, 12 gates in heaven, 12 months of the
year.  Tri-unity of Adonai, Yeshua was in the
grave for 3 days and 3 nights, The 3 days
Esther fasted before she went to see the King
and so on.
In the Hebrew Aleph-bet, each letter
corresponds to a numerical value.
Study the column on the left and learn each
letter's numerical value.  Click on the letters

There are 5 letters that have a "final" version.  We use the
final version when we use that letter at the end of a word.
To practice reciting the entire alephbet,
use the sound recording to the right
Final sounds are not vocalized.
